Imitation

My fingers are spider legs running across the keys
Begging for love from someone else’s clouded dreams
Eating the love and soulfulness of some else’s heart
Felling like if only, if only, I could find my part
In all this madness without purpose without
Meaning what do you mean by it,
Can I get a
Can I
But no, that’s not what I am because I am
Imitation
Only

When Penny looks at the endless sea

When Penny looks at the endless sea
She wonders what it means to be
To live and love and care about
All those things within, and without

She wanders through the park at dawn
Looking for a love that’s gone
To see the world because he should
And she thinks, she never, understood

In that time the love is lost
Because to hold on there is a cost
One that only some can pay
To be a light for another day

Not as lucky as the special few
Some love is lame and mediocre too
Penny may cry, wish, and hold on tight
But pathetic is a lackluster fight

So as the sun tries to peak its head
The cold wind reminds of words once said,
‘Penny, I love you, but not in that special, infinite kind of way. That doesn’t exist. But I love you. I’m sorry if that’s not enough; it’s all there is. And, it’s not going to last forever, if very long at all. Can we just have fun as we are, in this moment? I’d like that…’
